We have lost our appreciation for family. We no longer know how to trust others, those who have always been close to us. We do not trust a friend because everyone seems to carry the same behaviours. But there is something worse. Somewhere along the way, in the midst of distrust, we stop believing in ourselves. We look in the mirror and no longer know whether we can entrust our life to the body reflected back at us. This drawing is about that. It is for those who want to trust. Because I trust wrinkles, white hair, hands roughened by time, my parents, a tree, the sea. I trust foundations - those that are not built quickly, but are endured, that have travelled a long path before earning my trust.
